Dimitar Zhelyazkov Stoyanov is a Bulgarian politician, former military officer, and current member of the National Assembly. Born in Svilengrad, he served as a career officer in the Bulgarian Air Force, rising to the rank of colonel and serving as Chief of Staff of the Air Force from 2015 to 2016. He later transitioned into civil service, acting as Secretary General to President Rumen Radev and serving two terms as Minister of Defence between 2022 and 2023. In 2026, he co-founded the Progressive Bulgaria coalition to support Radev's political initiatives and was subsequently elected to the National Assembly.
