Δημήτρης Μαρκόπουλος

Dimitris Markopoulos is a Greek journalist and politician currently serving as the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, with responsibility for tax policy. A member of the New Democracy party, he has represented the Piraeus B constituency in the Hellenic Parliament since 2019. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career in journalism, specializing in economic and political reporting for outlets such as Proto Thema and various business publications. In 2023, he served as the chairman of the parliamentary inquiry committee investigating the Tempi train accident, a role that drew significant public and political scrutiny regarding his conduct and management of the proceedings.
