Dirk Panter is a German politician who has served as the Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection since December 2024. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as a member of the Landtag of Saxony from 2009 to 2025, including a long tenure as the SPD parliamentary group leader from 2014 to 2025. Before entering full-time politics, Panter worked as an analyst and associate for JP Morgan in London, New York, and Frankfurt. He is currently the SPD nominee for the 2027 mayoral election in Leipzig.
