Domenico Matera

Domenico Matera is an Italian politician currently serving as a Senator of the Republic in the XIX legislature. Born in Benevento in 1965, he began his political career in 1990 as a municipal councilor and served as the mayor of Bucciano from 2008 to 2023. A lawyer by profession, he has also worked as a municipal secretary since 1995. Since his election to the Senate in 2022, he has held various committee roles, including membership in the Environment and Public Works Commission, and was elected Secretary of the Senate Presidency in 2025.
