Ylenia Zambito

Ylenia Zambito is an Italian politician and academic who serves as a Senator of the Republic in the XIX legislature. A chemist by profession, she holds a doctorate in the chemistry and technology of bioactive substances and has served as a full professor at the University of Pisa. Her political career began in local government in Pisa, where she served as a city councilor and later as an assessor for housing and social policies. Since her election to the Senate in 2022, she has been active in the 10th Social Affairs and Health Commission and serves as treasurer for the Democratic Party-IDP parliamentary group.
