Donna Mercado Kim is an American politician serving as a member of the Hawaii Senate representing District 14. A veteran of Hawaii state government, she previously served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1982 to 1985 and on the Honolulu City Council from 1986 to 2000. Kim held the position of President of the Hawaii Senate from 2013 to 2015 and has chaired several influential committees, including the Committee on Ways and Means. Throughout her career, she has been a prominent advocate for higher education oversight and government accountability. In 2022, she made history alongside her son as part of the first mother-son duo to serve simultaneously in the Hawaii legislature.
