Dorte West

Dorte West is a Danish politician representing the Liberal Party (Venstre) who has served as the Mayor of Herning Municipality since August 1, 2021. She holds a degree in economics (cand.oecon) with a specialization in health economics. Before assuming her mayoral role, she served as a member of the Herning City Council starting in 2010 and was a member of the Central Denmark Region council from 2018 to 2021. In addition to her political duties, she has worked as a lecturer at the Uddannelses Center Ringkøbing-Skjern since 1999, teaching international economics and social studies. In 2024, she also serves as the chair of Business Region MidtVest.
