Formerly a prominent member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), he left the party in 2024 to found the Party of European Progress (SEP), which he currently leads. Throughout his career, he has been a central figure in Montenegrin politics, overseeing the country's accession to NATO and navigating significant domestic challenges, including protests regarding religious legislation and corruption allegations.
