Eddie Gibbs

Eddie Gibbs is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 68th district since 2022. Raised in public housing in East Harlem, he made history as the first formerly incarcerated individual to serve in the New York State Assembly. During his youth, Gibbs faced significant legal challenges, including a manslaughter conviction for which he served time in state correctional facilities, where he earned his GED and an associate degree. In his legislative role, he has focused on issues affecting his community in Harlem.
