Edmand Lara Montaño

Edmand Lara Montaño is a Bolivian politician, lawyer, and former police captain who currently serves as the Vice President of Bolivia. Known popularly as 'Capitán Lara', he gained national prominence as an anti-corruption activist after exposing irregularities within the National Police of Bolivia. Following his departure from the police force, he leveraged his significant social media presence to launch a political career. In 2025, he was elected Vice President on a ticket with Rodrigo Paz, though his tenure has been marked by public friction with the President and his vocal stance as an independent voice within the government.
