Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej is an Indonesian legal scholar and professor who served as the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights from 2020 to 2023. A long-time criminal law lecturer at Gadjah Mada University, he gained national prominence as an expert witness in several high-profile legal cases, including the 2016 murder trial of Wayan Mirna Salihin and the 2019 presidential election dispute. He resigned from his ministerial position in December 2023 following his designation as a suspect in a corruption investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission.
