Elena Roon

Elena Roon is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Bavaria, representing the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. Born in 1977 in the Kazakh SSR, she moved to Germany in 1994 as a resettler. Before entering politics, she worked as a commercial clerk and project manager. Roon has been a member of the AfD since 2014 and served as a district councillor in Middle Franconia from 2019 to 2023. Her political career has been marked by controversy, including public criticism for sharing extremist imagery and her participation in a 2024 trip to Russia as an observer for the presidential election, which led to a formal reprimand from her party.
