Elisabeta Lipă is a Romanian politician and former professional rower who currently serves as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, having been elected in 2024 on the Social Democratic Party (PSD) list. Widely regarded as one of the most decorated rowers in Olympic history, she won five gold, two silver, and one bronze medal across six Olympic Games. Beyond her athletic career, she has held significant government and administrative roles, including serving as the Minister of Youth and Sport from 2015 to 2017 and as president of the National Agency for Sport. She also holds the rank of police quaestor, equivalent to a general, and has long served as the president of the Romanian Rowing Federation.
