Elizabeth Hernandez

Elizabeth Hernandez is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 2nd district. First elected in 2006, she represents a constituency in the Chicago area that includes parts of Berwyn, Brookfield, Cicero, Riverside, and Stickney. In 2022, she was elected chairperson of the Democratic Party of Illinois, becoming the first Latina to hold the position. Throughout her legislative career, she has served on numerous committees, including those focused on appropriations, education, and redistricting.
