Elphas Buthelezi

Elphas Mfakazeleni Buthelezi is a South African politician and traditional leader who serves as a member of the National Assembly of South Africa. A prominent figure within the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), he currently holds the position of deputy president of the party. Before his election to the National Assembly in 2019, he served as the mayor of the Zululand District Municipality. In addition to his parliamentary duties, he is a chieftain of the Buthelezi clan of the Zulu people, balancing his legislative responsibilities with his traditional leadership role.
