Elsa Widding is a Swedish politician and former government advisor who currently serves as an independent Member of the Riksdag. An engineer and business graduate, she gained public prominence for her critical analysis of the Nuon affair and her subsequent commentary on energy policy, climate change, and nuclear power. Originally elected to the Riksdag in 2022 representing the Sweden Democrats, she became an independent in 2023 and has since announced plans to launch a new political party, Ambition Sverige, to contest the 2026 general elections.
