Emanuelis Zingeris is a Lithuanian politician, philologist, and museum director who has served as a Member of the Seimas since 2004, having previously held the seat from 1990 to 2000. A signatory of the 1990 Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania, he is a prominent figure in human rights and foreign affairs, having chaired the Seimas Foreign Affairs Committee and served as a Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Zingeris is also known for his work as the director of the Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum and his leadership in the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania. He is a founding signatory of the Prague Declaration on European Conscience and Communism and remains an active advocate for human rights defenders and whistleblowers.
