高階恵美子

Emiko Takagai is a Japanese politician and former nurse and public health nurse currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Shimane 1st district. Before her election to the lower house, she served two terms in the House of Councillors and held various government positions, including State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. With a strong background in public health and nursing, she has been involved in policy areas such as cancer control, tobacco control, and social welfare. She was elected to her current seat in the House of Representatives in February 2026.
