Erik Kaliňák is a Slovak politician serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2024. Born in Bratislava in 1991, he is the nephew of former deputy prime minister Robert Kaliňák. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from Comenius University in 2015. Before his election to the European Parliament, he worked as a social media manager for Smer–SD and served as a member of the National Council of Slovakia starting in 2023. He has held the position of deputy leader of the Smer–SD party since 2020.
