Esmeralda Soria is an American politician and educator serving as a member of the California State Assembly for the 27th district since 2022. Before her election to the state legislature, she served on the Fresno City Council from 2015 to 2022, where she made history as the first Latina to serve as Council President. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, Davis, Soria previously worked at the California State Capitol and interned at the White House. Her political career has focused on community advocacy and regional development in the San Joaquin Valley.
