A member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, he previously served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2018 to 2023 and held the position of Provincial Minister for Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development. Before his political career, Gandapur worked as a model and journalist, and he is also an environmentalist and horse breeder.
