Farah Rumy

Farah Rumy is a Swiss politician and medical expert who has served as a member of the National Council of Switzerland since 2023. Born in Sri Lanka, she moved to Switzerland as a child and built a professional career in nursing and interventional cardiology before entering politics. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she previously served on the Cantonal Council of Solothurn and as a municipal councilor in Grenchen. Her political work focuses on health policy, social welfare, and foreign affairs, and she is a prominent advocate for the nursing profession. In 2025, she was elected as the second vice-president of the National Council.
