Farid Gayibov
Profile
Farid Gayibov is the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, having assumed office in September 2021 and been re-appointed in February 2024. Born in Baku in 1979, he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Institute of Economics with a bachelor's degree in Business Management in 1999 and a master's degree in 2001, later earning a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences degree in Russia. Prior to his cabinet appointment, Gayibov built an extensive career in sports administration, serving as Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and President of European Gymnastics, as well as holding various leadership roles within the International Gymnastics Federation and UNESCO.
