Ferit Şenyaşar is a Turkish politician of Kurdish descent currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly for Şanlıurfa, representing the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). He gained national attention following the 2018 general election, during which his father and two brothers were killed in a violent attack involving the relatives of a then-AKP deputy. Alongside his mother, Emine Şenyaşar, he spent years conducting a high-profile 'Justice Vigil' outside the Şanlıurfa Courthouse to demand accountability for the killings. He was elected to parliament in the 2023 Turkish general election, where he continues to advocate for justice and human rights.
