Frédéric Chéreau

Frédéric Chéreau is a French politician and historian currently serving as the Mayor of Douai. A territorial civil servant by profession, he entered the Douai municipal council in 2008 and was first elected mayor in 2014, subsequently winning re-election in 2020 and 2026. Throughout his political career, he has been associated with left-wing and environmentalist coalitions. In addition to his municipal duties, he previously served as a regional councillor from 2011 to 2015.
