Gan Kim Yong is a Singaporean politician currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore since 2024 and Minister for Trade and Industry since 2021. A member of the People's Action Party, he has represented the Punggol North division as a Member of Parliament since 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various ministerial portfolios, including Minister for Manpower and Minister for Health, and played a key role in managing Singapore's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before entering politics, he held senior executive positions in the private sector, including as CEO of NatSteel, and served in the Singaporean Civil Service.
