Gary Stevens

Gary Lee Stevens is an American politician serving as a member of the Alaska Senate since 2003. He currently holds the position of President of the Alaska Senate, a role he previously occupied from 2009 to 2013. Throughout his tenure, Stevens has been recognized for leading bipartisan majority coalitions. Before his time in the Senate, he served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 2001 to 2003. Beyond his legislative career, Stevens is an educator and playwright, notably authoring the stage drama 'Uncle Ted' about the late Senator Ted Stevens.
