Ged Kearney is an Australian politician and former trade union leader who has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2018, representing the Division of Cooper. Following the 2025 federal election, she was appointed Assistant Minister for Social Services and Assistant Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence in the second Albanese ministry. Before entering parliament, she was the president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and a registered nurse. Kearney is a strong advocate for social justice, women's health, and Indigenous rights, having notably chaired the National Women's Health Advisory Council.
