Georgie Purcell is an Australian politician serving as a Member of the Victorian Legislative Council for Northern Victoria since 2022. As the sole representative of the Animal Justice Party in the Victorian Parliament, she has focused her legislative agenda on animal welfare, including advocacy against duck hunting and greyhound racing, and successfully passing motions for inquiries into pig welfare. Purcell is also a vocal advocate for reproductive healthcare access, labor rights for sex workers, and social justice issues. Before her election, she worked as a lawyer, communications adviser, and chief of staff to former MP Andy Meddick.
