Moira Deeming
Profile
Moira Deeming is an Australian politician serving as a member of the Victorian Legislative Council for the Western Metropolitan Region. A former teacher and Melton City councillor, she was elected to the state parliament in 2022. Deeming is known for her conservative social views, particularly her opposition to the Safe Schools program and transgender rights. Her political career has been marked by significant controversy, including a high-profile suspension and subsequent expulsion from the Liberal Party parliamentary room following her involvement in an anti-transgender rally attended by neo-Nazis. After winning a defamation case against party leader John Pesutto, she was readmitted to the parliamentary Liberal Party in late 2024 and was later promoted to Shadow Assistant Minister for Local Government in 2025.
