Geraldo Alckmin is a Brazilian politician and physician who has served as the 26th Vice President of Brazil since 2023. Previously, he served as the Governor of São Paulo for four terms, becoming the longest-serving governor since Brazil's democratization. A former member of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), he joined the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) in 2022 to serve as the running mate for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Often described as a pro-business centrist, Alckmin began his political career as a city councilor and mayor of Pindamonhangaba before rising to national prominence.
