Gerard Renkema

Gerard Renkema is a Dutch politician and administrator who has served in various mayoral capacities throughout his career. A member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), he studied Dutch law and administrative sciences at the University of Groningen. Renkema served as an alderman in Assen from 1990 to 2002, before becoming the mayor of Eemsmond in 2002. He later served as the mayor of Nijkerk for over 17 years, from 2007 until 2024, where he was named an honorary citizen upon his departure. Most recently, he served as the acting mayor of Culemborg from May to December 2025.
