Gilles Nembé

Gilles Nembé is a Gabonese politician and mining engineer currently serving as the Minister of Mines and Geological Resources. Born in Libreville in 1969, he holds an engineering degree from Polytechnique Montréal and an MBA from HEC Paris. Before entering politics in 2024, he held various executive roles in the technology and mining sectors, including positions at Cisco Systems, Viadeo, and Comilog, as well as serving as the Director General of the Société de patrimoine des infrastructures numériques. Since his appointment to the government, he has also taken on interim ministerial responsibilities for transport, water, energy, and industry.
