
Gisela Stuart

Gisela Stuart is a British-German politician and life peer who currently sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords. Born in West Germany, she moved to the United Kingdom in 1974 and served as the Labour Member of Parliament for Birmingham Edgbaston from 1997 to 2017. A prominent Eurosceptic, she chaired the Vote Leave campaign during the 2016 EU membership referendum. Since leaving the House of Commons, she has held several public appointments, including chair of Wilton Park and First Civil Service Commissioner.
