Guy Parmelin is a Swiss politician currently serving as the President of the Swiss Confederation for 2026, a position he also held in 2021. A member of the Swiss People's Party, he has served as a Federal Councillor since 2016 and has led the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research since 2019. Previously, he was a master winegrower and served in the Grand Council of Vaud and the National Council. He is recognized as the first Federal Councillor from the French-speaking part of Switzerland representing his party.
