Gwendolyn Rutten is a Belgian politician currently serving as a member of the Flemish Parliament. Born in Hasselt, she studied Law and International Politics at the Catholic University of Leuven. Rutten has held several significant political roles, including serving as the chairperson of the Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats (Open VLD) from 2012 to 2020. In addition to her parliamentary duties, she has been a city councillor in Aarschot since 2007 and has served as a schepen (alderman) for the city since 2013. Her career also includes a tenure as a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives between 2010 and 2014.
