Hae-sik Lee is a South Korean politician currently serving as a member of the 22nd National Assembly, representing the Gangdong-gu Eul constituency in Seoul. A long-time member of the Democratic Party of Korea, he previously served three consecutive terms as the Mayor of Gangdong-gu from 2008 to 2018. His political career began in the 1990s as a local council member, and he has since held various leadership roles within his party, including Chief Spokesperson and Chief of Staff to the party leader. Lee is recognized for his extensive experience in local administration and urban policy, having received numerous awards for his governance and manifesto implementation during his tenure as mayor.
