Hannes Gnauck

Hannes Gnauck is a German politician and a member of the Bundestag, representing the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party since 2021. Before entering politics, he served as a soldier in the Bundeswehr from 2014 to 2021. He previously served as the federal chairman of the Young Alternative for Germany, the party's youth wing, until its dissolution in 2025. Gnauck has been classified as a recognized extremist by Germany's Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD), a designation that has led to restrictions on his military status and sparked significant political controversy regarding his role on the Bundestag's defense committee.
