Hans Beenakker

Hans Beenakker is a Dutch politician and agricultural economist who has served as the Mayor of Krimpenerwaard since January 2024. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he previously held mayoral positions in Asten from 2004 to 2012 and in Tiel from 2012 to 2024. Earlier in his career, Beenakker worked in policy roles for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries and served as an alderman in Voorburg and Leidschendam-Voorburg. He holds a degree in agricultural economics from Wageningen University.
