Daisaku Hiraki is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Councillors, currently in his third term. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, he worked in the private sector at Citibank, Booz & Company, and Sigmaxyz before entering politics. Throughout his career, he has held various government roles, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and State Minister of Reconstruction. Within the Komeito party, he has served as the Chairman of the Diet Affairs Committee and the Youth Committee. Hiraki is known for his advocacy for the introduction of a selective separate surname system for married couples and his focus on corporate governance reform to improve labor distribution rates and wage growth for employees.
