Hiroaki Sakuno is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Ishikawa Prefectural Assembly. First elected to the assembly in 1999, he has held several leadership positions, including serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Prefectural Assembly and as the Mayor of Hakusan City from 2010 to 2018. Before his tenure in the prefectural assembly, he served as a member and Vice-Chairman of the Matsuto City Council. His policy priorities include the promotion of regional industries through the utilization of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, infrastructure development, agricultural support, and the enhancement of social welfare and disaster prevention measures.
