Hirotaka Ishihara is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives and currently holding the position of Minister of the Environment and Minister of State for Nuclear Emergency Preparedness. Born in 1964, he is the third son of the late politician and author Shintaro Ishihara. After a career in the banking sector, he was first elected to the Diet in 2005. Throughout his career, he has held various government roles, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and State Minister of Cabinet Office. Politically, he is known for his conservative stances, supporting constitutional revision and the strengthening of Japan's defense capabilities, while focusing on environmental policy, disaster prevention, and economic revitalization.
