Tsuyoshi Hoshino is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives, currently in his sixth term. Born in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, he graduated from Nihon University and Elmira College in the United States. Before entering politics, he worked as a journalist for the Sankei Shimbun. Hoshino served three terms in the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly before being elected to the national Diet in 2012. Throughout his career, he has held various government positions, including State Minister of Cabinet Office, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and State Minister for Reconstruction. Politically, he is known for his conservative views, supporting constitutional reform and the explicit mention of the Self-Defense Forces in the Constitution. He has also been active in various parliamentary leagues, including those focused on traditional values and national security.
