Hugh Blackwell

Hugh Blackwell is an American politician serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 86, which encompasses parts of Burke County. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he maintains a legal practice in Valdese, North Carolina. Before his tenure in the state legislature, Blackwell served on the Burke County School Board and has been active in local education governance as a board of trustees member for Western Piedmont Community College. He has been recognized for his conservative legislative priorities, including being named a Champion of the Family by the NC Values Coalition.
