Humza Yousaf is a Scottish politician who served as the First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party from 2023 to 2024. A member of the Scottish Parliament since 2011, he previously held several cabinet positions, including Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care. Born in Glasgow to Pakistani immigrants, he studied politics at the University of Glasgow before beginning his career as a parliamentary assistant. Yousaf is noted for being the first Muslim and the first Scottish Asian to serve as First Minister of Scotland.
