Idir Boumertit

Idir Boumertit is a French politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly for the 14th constituency of the Rhône since 2022. Born in Lyon in 1974, he grew up in the Minguettes district of Vénissieux, where he began his career in community work and professional integration. A member of La France Insoumise, he previously served as a municipal councilor and deputy mayor of Vénissieux, and as a councilor for the Lyon Metropolis. In March 2026, he was elected mayor of Vénissieux. His legislative work has focused on social issues, including education, urban policy, and the regulation of recreational substances like nitrous oxide.
