Toyohito Ikeda is the Governor of Kagawa Prefecture, having assumed office in September 2022. A graduate of the University of Tokyo with a background in civil engineering, he spent the majority of his career as a technical official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. During his tenure at the ministry, he held several key positions, including Director-General of the Road Bureau. Following his retirement from the national government, he served as a corporate advisor and academic guest professor before entering politics. As governor, he has focused on regional development and infrastructure management, aiming to enhance Kagawa's tourism industry and economic vitality.
