Indira Ranamagar

Indira Ranamagar is a Nepalese politician and social worker currently serving as a member of the 3rd Federal Parliament of Nepal, representing the Jhapa-2 constituency. Before entering national politics, she gained recognition for founding the non-profit organization Prisoners Assistance Nepal in 2000, which supports the children of incarcerated parents. She previously served as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2023 to 2025. Ranamagar has been widely honored for her humanitarian efforts, including being named one of the BBC's 100 Women in 2017 and receiving the World Children’s Honorary Award.
