Ionelia Priescu

Ionelia-Florența Priescu is a Romanian politician currently serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies for Gorj County, representing the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR). Elected in the 2024 parliamentary elections, she assumed office on December 21, 2024. Within the Chamber, she serves as the secretary of the AUR parliamentary group and is a member of the Committee for Agriculture, Forestry, Food Industry and Specific Services, as well as the Committee for Legal Matters, Discipline, and Immunities. Priescu is also active in several parliamentary friendship groups, including those for Peru, Greece, Malaysia, and Thailand. In her legislative capacity, she has been vocal on environmental oversight, notably challenging government ministers regarding the management of protected natural areas.
