Ismail Mohamed

Ismail Mohamed is an American politician serving as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for District 3. Born into a refugee family that fled Somalia to Kenya and Ethiopia before settling in the United States, he is the first Somali male representative to serve in the Ohio State Legislature. An attorney and alumnus of the Moritz College of Law, Mohamed focuses his legislative efforts on lowering housing costs, supporting small businesses, increasing public education funding, and advocating for criminal justice reform, including the expungement of minor marijuana offenses.
